Welcome to Music with Mummy and Jolly Babies

mwmdrummerstillMUSIC with MUMMY provides a range of educational and fun music classes especially designed for babies, toddlers and pre-school children. Our small and friendly classes have been running since 1992 throughout the UK and classes here in Torbay have been running since September 2007. The music we use is a mix of traditional nursery rhymes and songs, along with an enormous repertoire of original music that has been specifically composed to be sung with very young babies, through to toddling toddlers and also with exuberant pre-schoolers!

What sessions do you have for my child?
There are two different sessions available for your little ones: JOLLY BABIES is where our musical journey begins specifically designed for babies aged from just 12 weeks up to 15 months; and then once they are confident on their feet and ready to explore the world they move up to the next stage of sessions, MUSIC with MUMMY,  which is a lively and fun, yet carefully structured programme that will take your child from first steps through to getting ready for big school! Click on the links above to find out more and see some photos taken from our sessions.

Is it just about teaching music?
At Music with Mummy our primary aim is for children and their families to enjoy taking part in musical activities together and to continue that throughout their lives. But we also incorporate many other learning opportunities each week into our fun and lively music sessions, developing language and communication, and encouraging good social skills such as sharing, taking turns, saying please and thank you, and tidying up. And in addition, we take the time to build your child’s confidence and independence through music, movement and drama according to your child’s individual stage of development, learning early musical concepts such as pulse, pitch and rhythm along the way.
