Music with Mummy sessions are for toddlers/preschoolers aged 15 months upwards and are for everyone, be that with Mummy, Daddy, Nanny, Grandma, Childminder, Auntie, Uncle, or a combination of all!
Each half term is structured around a theme, eg. colours, transport, weather, and during the course of the classes the children learn music and songs to introduce new ideas, develop deeper understanding, and explore adding a musical backdrop to a topic that will be relevant to small children.
We also teach a simple musical aspect each half term, eg. tempo – fast & slow, dynamics – loud and soft, developing a steady beat, a sense of rhythm, and sound and silence – stop and go. We use specially selected hand percussion instruments for the children, and of course, we enjoy the drums too.
In addition, our carefully designed classes also help to develop children’s language skills, confidence, good manners, listening skills, sharing and taking turns, and everyone works together as a team, with long-lasting friendships being made between the adults as well as the children.
- Sessions are booked half termly and are £27 for a typical 6 week half term block.
- You may start part way through a term if there is a space and only pay for the remaining weeks.
- Babies can come along free of charge with their older sibling and there are discounts for twins and other siblings so please ask your class leader for details.
